CATALOG  BIOGRAPHY

Statement: My current work focuses on the experience of living in urban life. In my adopted home of New York City, there is a speed and an electric energy that inspires me. There is this constant tension of needing to survive amongst the masses, but yet. wanting to create and exist in sheer isolation. In my paintings I try to depict the distorted glance of every corner in the city. The newspaper collages I impose on my works represent the constant noise and chatter I hear on the streets. My lines and colors do not intend to define, but to represent. It is as though the buildings, the people, the speed and the spirit of the city all meld together in color, rhythm and form.
