Arturo MONTOTO

Born: 1953, Pinar del Rio, Cuba.

Education: 1968-1972 School of Art of Pinar del Río. 1973-1977 National School of Art of Havana. 1977 travels through the Higher Institute of Art of Havana. 1978 obtains a scholarship to study at the State Institute of Arts V. I. Súrikov in Moscow. 1978-1984 State Institute of Arts V. I. Súrikov, Moscow, where I obtained the title of "Master of Fine Arts" in the specialty of Mural Painting.

Experience: Painter, draftsman, engraver, sculptor, muralist and photographer. From 1972-1973 She works as Provincial Consultant of Plastic Arts in the Provincial Delegation of the National Council of Culture in Pinar del Río. 1986-1993 He is a professor at the Higher Institute of Art of Havana, occupying the position of Head of the Department of Painting since 1990. He holds the teaching category of Assistant Professor. 1996 - 1997 He is professor of several theoretical-practical courses of his authorship for professional artists in Chile. 2002. He is invited to a residency at the University of Maine in Augusta, United States, where he teaches painting, drawing and lectures about his work.
