Agustín BEJARANO

Born: 1964, December 12, city of Camagüey, Cuba.

Education: 1980 Elementary School of Plastic Arts Luis Casas Romero, in Camagüey. 1984 National School of Art of Havana. 1989 Degree in Plastic Arts with specialization in Engraving by the Higher Institute of Art.

Experience: He has taught as a teacher of engraving at the National School of Art and the Provincial School of Fine Arts San Alejandro.
Prizes: Selection. 1995 Prize at the XI Biennial of Latin American and Caribbean Engraving in Puerto Rico. 1997 Grand Prix of the National Engraving Hall. Commemorative medal of the Agency of Visual Authors, ADAVIS; 2004 distinction of "illustrious son of the city", Camagüey, distinction "Representative Currency", Ciego de Ávila and Bronze Medal in the Salon of Painting of the Society of French Artists; 2005 Distinction for the National Culture, Havana, Cuba.

Shows: Selection: Gan Gallery, Japan; International Art Fair, Miami; International Art Fair, Chicago; Mini Print Triennial, Art Museum of Tama University, Tokyo, Japan; Arco Fair, Spain; among other relevant collective samples. In 1999 he traveled to Spain, where he made his first personal exhibition at the gallery Lausin & Blasco in Zaragoza and then exhibited in Zurich, Germany. In 2000 he is invited to exhibit, representing the Nina Menocal gallery at the International Contemporary Art Fair 2000, in Paris. In 2001 he is included in the show Beauty and strength at the Elkon Gallery, New York. In 2003, the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana organizes an exhibition of his work dedicated to José Martí in the Convent of San Francisco de Asís, Havana. 2010 LANDSCAPE personal exhibition from August to September at the Galería Habana, Cuba.

BIOGRAFÍA

Nacimiento: Nace el 12 de diciembre de 1964 en la ciudad de Camagüey, Cuba.

Estudios: 1980 Escuela Elemental de Artes Plásticas Luis Casas Romero, en Camagüey. 1984 Escuela Nacional de Arte de La Habana. 1989 Licenciado en Artes Plásticas con especialización en Grabado por el Instituto Superior de Arte.

Experiencia: Ha impartido clases como profesor de grabado en la Escuela Nacional de Arte y en la Escuela Provincial de Artes Plásticas San Alejandro.
Premios: Selección. 1995 Premio en la XI Bienal de Grabado Latinoamericano y del Caribe en Puerto Rico. 1997 Gran Premio del Salón Nacional de Grabado. Medalla conmemorativa de la Agencia de Autores Visuales, ADAVIS; 2004 distinción de "Hijo ilustre de la ciudad", Camagüey, distinción "Moneda Representativa", Ciego de Ávila y Medalla de Bronce en el Salón de Pintura de la Sociedad de Artistas Franceses; 2005 Distinción por la Cultura Nacional, La Habana, Cuba.

Exposiciones: Selección: Galería Gan, Japón; Feria Internacional de Arte, Miami; Feria Internacional de Arte, Chicago; Mini Print Triennial, Museo de Arte de la Universidad de Tama, Tokio, Japón; Feria Arco, España; entre otras relevantes muestras colectivas. En 1999 Viaja a España, donde realiza su primera exposición personal en la galería Lausin & Blasco en Zaragoza y luego expone en Zurich, Alemania.
